DIRECTOR & PRODUCER

Mark Tchelistcheff is the grand nephew of André Tchelistcheff and is a director, cinematographer, and producer. He is the founder of Open Films, an international production company focused on films, documentaries, commercials, multi-media, and television content.  In 2005, he produced the feature film "Conversations With Other Women" for which Helena Bonham Carter won both the Best Actress award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Evening Standard British Film Best Actress Award.  He has directed numerous commercials and work for international televison such as the acclaimed Tokyo Broadcasting Systems television music series "Song To Soul" covering such iconic music legends as Roberta Flack, Ray Charles, The Doobie Brothers, and The Band.  Mark's work has been seen on television globally and his films have been in festivals around the world from Berlin to Tokyo to Telluride.

He comes from an international background, which is the fabric and foundation of his adventurous spirit.  Like André, his grand uncle, he is the offspring of old Russian and German aristocratic lineage. Mark grew up in Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia, Thailand and United State.  His university years included lectures on law, philosophy, history, and film in both Germany and California following which he spent time in Japan, India, Sikkim, Nepal, and Tibet.  His other interests include literature, sailing, mountain climbing, skiing, and great wine, sake, spirits and food.

Although Mark's primary work is in film and entertainment, he volunteers in various capacities with global disaster relief efforts and sustainable development projects.

NARRATOR

Ralph Fiennes is a British film and stage actor. Fiennes' portrayal of Nazi war criminal Amon Göth in Schindler's List (1993) earned him nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor, and he won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. His performance as Count Almásy in The English Patient (1996) garnered him a second Academy Award nomination, for Best Actor, as well as BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations.


Since then, Fiennes has been in a number of notable films, including Strange Days (1995), The End of the Affair (1999), Red Dragon (2002), The Constant Gardener (2005), In Bruges (2008), The Reader (2008), Clash of the Titans (2010), Great Expectations (2012), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). He is also known for his roles in major film franchises such as the Harry Potter film series (2005–2011), in which he played Lord Voldemort, and the James Bond series, in which he has played Gareth Mallory / M, starting with the 2012 film Skyfall.


In 2011, Fiennes made his directorial debut with his film adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy Coriolanus, in which he also played the title character. Fiennes won a Tony Award for playing Prince Hamlet on Broadway. Since 1999, Fiennes has served as an ambassador for UNICEF UK.

ADVISOR

Walter Murch is a film director, editor and the godfather of modern film sound design.   Walter’s has worked on films including Apocalypse Now, The Godfather I, II, and III, American Graffiti, The Conversation, The Unbearable Likeness of Being and The English Patient, with three Academy Award wins (from nine nominations: six for picture editing and three for sound mixing), he has been referred to as "the most respected film editor and sound designer in the modern cinema."

 

CONSULTING EDITOR

Michael Chandler is an Academy Award-nominated and BAFTA winning editor and filmmaker, working in non-fiction and fiction film. The films Michael has worked on have won numerous awards including his film Knee Deep which won four Best Documentary Awards, including the prestigious Maysles Brothers Award, and aired on PBS Independent Lens. Additional credits include Never Cry Wolf, Mishima, and Amadeus, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award and won the ACE award for Best Feature Editing. He has written and edited the documentaries Freedom on My Mind (Academy Nomination, Sundance Grand Jury Prize), Yosemite: The Fate of Heaven (Emmy Award), and Can't It Be Anyone Else?, for which he received the Christopher Humanitarian Award and the ACE Award for Best Documentary Editing. Michael's editing credits include Waldo Salt: A Screenwriter's Journey (Academy Nomination), The Squires of San Quentin (Academy Nomination), Michael served as consulting editor, co-editor and co-writer on the Oscar-nominated The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers (IDFA Special Jury Award, National Board of Review, Freedom of Expression Award).

 

COMPOSER

Alexei Aigui, besides being a noted violinist, is considered one of Russia’s modern master film composers and has been awarded four NIKA awards (Russian Oscars) for his film compositions. Alexei brings his deep Russian roots and minimalist sensibility creating a score that enhances and dramatizes André’s life and work.  Alexei was born in 1971 in Moscow and is the son of the poet Gennady Aigui and lives in both France and Russia. Alexei completed his music studies in composition at Ipollitov Ivanov Conservatory and has since been composing original works for both a multitude of international films and his live performing group 4'33". Alexei music can be heard on such films as  Im Not Your Negro, Le Petit Poucet, Moloch Tropical, Je ne dis pas non, L'école du pouvoir, “Ruine de l’Empire”, “Le champ sauvage”, “Kamenskaya”, and “Petit appartement” among others.

Wedigo von Schultzendorf is one of Europe’s great cinematographers. His work has been seen worldwide, and he has an extensive background in advertising, documentaries, and feature films.  Wedigo worked with the legendary director Woody Allen, who hired him to shoot the acclaimed film “Hollywood Ending.”  Wedigo has filmed such stars as Susan Sarandon, Dennis Quaid, Wesley Snipes, Tea Leoni, Ryan Phillippe, Amanda Peet, Claire Danes, Gretchen Mol, Armin Mueller-Stahl, and others.  Wedigo cinemaphotography includes the following feature films: " Pandorum", "Lulu and Jimi", "Igby Goes Down", "Hollywood Ending " and "The Thirteenth Floor" among others.
